I have been a Neil Diamond fan ever since the first time I heard Sweet Caroline in 1969. I've been to see Neil 10 times in concert. I have every album that he has ever put out including Home Before Dark. Serenade is one of his best collections of original songs. His voice was at it's best during the seventies. Rich, full and clear. His passion and talent shine brightly on all 8 tracks. Get this one...you'll be glad you did. Thanks for the 100's of hours of listening pleasure Neil...Joe

Neil Diamond's 1974 "Serenade" is one lush,spirtual diamond of a album,containing such evergreens as "Longfellow Serenade","I've Been This Way Before","Lady Magdelene" and "Yes I Will" as well as overlooked gems as "Rosemary's Wine" and "The Gift Of Song".And considering its dirt-cheap price,its a steal,frankly!

I had always enjoyed Neil's music since first listening to the classic Hot August Night LP. So when Serenade came out I eagerly bought it and when I listened to it it instantly became a favorite. Every song is fantastic, every time I listen to it I am left wanting more due to the small amount of songs on it. I always listen to it at least two times in a row and never tire of it. If you're a Neil Diamond fan it is a must have and if you're not then you owe it to yourself to give it a listen and hear what you've been missing. A beautiful set of songs with beautiful orchestral arrangememts with some of Neil's best vocals ever.
