I have to say, I miss Peter Cetera in Chicago. When he left in 1985, Chicago was never the same again. Cetera's voice with Chicago created some of the best pop rock songs of the seventies like 'If You Leave Me Now,' and some of the better fusion songs of the seventies in '25 or 6 to 4.'
However, his solo career was not so great, in my opinion. His pop rock days were completely left behind. His Chicago-type of songs that were melodic, but at the same time, rocking were also gone. By 1992, when this was released, Cetera was a pop artist and not a rock star anymore.
Those who have read my reviews and followed my reviews over the years know that I am not a pop lover and not even a pop rock lover. Cetera has a great voice and can play a mean bass guitar, but he wasted his talents.
Cetera's 'World Falling Down' was a weak effort, no denying it. I am a casual Chicago fan, and own quite a few of their compilations, but I borrowed this from my library and put it on my iPod.
Well, my reviews are mixed. Cetera's high pitched voice made Chicago instantly recognizable. Cetera's voice is just as good in 1992 as it was in 1972, and for that reason because his voice is good, I give it three stars. But otherwise, this isn't very enjoyable. I don't really like the arrangements.
Overall, this album isn't terrible, but it's not very good. Cetera's voice is pretty good, but 'World Falling Down' isn't worth your time because of the cheesy arrangements.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a Chicago album. That is where you will experience Cetera at his finest. But, unless you are Chicago or Cetera collector, I would just avoid this.
